Holly Johnson

A flambouyant front man. Holly wrote most of the lyrics and was the main inspiration from the earliest days, both lyrically and visually. He preferred the bass driven pop sound of their earliest releases as opposed to the more rock orientated second album.
After the acrimonious split from the band he successfully proved in court that the contract he (and the other members of the band) had signed with ZTT was unfair. Holly went on to experience some considerable success as a solo artist with a platinum selling debut album (BLAST).

"I enjoy certain things, no one else has to enjoy them, and I see certain things in a certain way, but no one else has to see those things in the same way. And then again no one has the right to tell me it's immoral or selfish or wrong to do what I do."
